Part of the A14 was closed this evening while Suffolk police attended an incident.
The major road was blocked westbound between junction 45 at Battlies Green and junction 44 at Bury St Edmunds at around 6pm.
National Highways said approaching traffic was being diverted and warned motorists to plan their routes accordingly.
One lane reopened shortly after and some queues formed around the area.
The entire carriageway reopened at around 9pm.
The nature of the incident currently remains unknown but Suffolk Constabulary has been contacted for comment.
