Officers have rescued a swan that was causing drivers to swerve in a 60mph road it was walking down.
PC Walker and PC Bowers from Essex Police found the young swan walking down Warren Lane in Stanway after receiving reports of a highway disruption.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "This was in a 60mph zone and needless to say drivers were swerving to avoid the lost swan."
The two officers managed to safely capture the swan and took it to be a nearby vets' for it to be checked before it was released back to a suitable habitat.
