A café known for its "divine crullers" and other pastries has been added to a top guide for food lovers.

Owned by Alice Norman, Pinch café recently expanded into a larger site at Maple Farm in Kelsale, near Saxmundham.

Ms Norman set up the café when she returned home to Suffolk after working as a head chef in a Mayfair restaurant.

Pinch is known for its crullers - a donut made from fried choux pastry with a name originating from the early 19th century Dutch word "krullen" which means to curl.

Pinch has recently been added to the Good Food Guide as a local gem.

Inspectors for the prestigious guide said: "Chef Alice Norman still wows with her divine crullers and there is a lot of love for the choux au craquelin filled to bursting with sweet-savoury custard made with local St Jude cheese."

As well as pastries, Pinch also serves gelato in a handmade spelt cone, Roman pizza by the slice and Pinch products to take home from the Maple Farmshop opposite the café.
