The team behind ScottishPower Renewables’ flagship offshore windfarm – East Anglia ONE – have been highly commended at a global industry awards ceremony.

The commendation in the ‘Offshore Wind Project of the Year’ category at the Global Offshore Wind Awards reflects the team’s dedication to operational excellence, health and safety, innovation and sustainability.

Lead contracts manager, Richard Watts, from the windfarm’s operational base in Lowestoft collected the award on behalf of the team.

Mr Watts said: “We’re proud of what we do to keep the clean, green electricity from East Anglia ONE flowing from power to plug 365 days a year.

East Anglia ONE began operating in July 2020.

Located 43km off the coast of Suffolk, its 102 turbines have the capacity to produce 714MW of renewable electricity.
