A man who bombarded his ex-partner with malicious messages on fake Facebook has been locked up over the weekend while a judge decides his fate.
Mark Wiggett also falsely told the woman’s bosses at a care home that she was a drug user and made untrue claims to the NSPCC that her child was malnourished, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Adam Budworth, prosecuting, said that as a result of 37-year-old Wiggett’s behaviour the victim had moved home and had come off social media.
Wiggett, of Penfold Road, Clacton-on Sea, admitted stalking the woman over a two year period between August 2020 and October 2022 and a separate offence of affray.
Judge Martyn Levett adjourned sentence until Tuesday ( October 29) and remanded Wiggett in custody.
Mr Budworth said Wiggett had 17 previous convictions, including offences of harassment and breaches of a non molestation order between 2014 and 2016 in respect of two other previous partners
He said the affray offence related to a violent incident between two families in the bar of the Felixstowe Beach caravan park during which chairs were picked up and thrown around.
The court heard that Wiggett had mental health issues and had used cocaine in the past but no longer had any issues with drugs or alcohol .
