Inspectors have praised a school for being "at the heart of the community" in its latest report.

Elmsett Church of England Primary School, which is part of the St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Diocesan Multi-Academy Trust, has been rated good across all five categories by Ofsted after an inspection on September 24 and September 25.

The report said pupils are keen to attend the school and commented on the "warm and friendly" atmosphere which has been created.

Inspectors believe pupils feel safe at the school, in The Street, near Hadleigh, and engage well in lessons.

"This is a school at the heart of the community," the report said.

Reading standards and the teaching of reading was also highlighted.

The report from inspectors said early reading was "taught effectively" and that pupils talk "enthusiastically about books they enjoy".

Areas which the school could improve in include giving pupils the opportunity to develop their writing skills and ensuring that pupils have a varied knowledge of different faiths and cultures.
