A parish councillor, father and husband who was "widely involved with village life" has died following a motorcycle crash.

Kevin Love, 56, was riding a green Kawasaki motorbike on the A1066 at Brettenham, near Thetford, when the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

The road was closed while emergency services, including fire, ambulance and an air ambulance, attended the scene.

His inquest was opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court by the area coroner Yvonne Blake who told the court that Mr Love worked as a mechanic.

She added that Mr Love was born in Eye, Suffolk, and was married to Louise Love.

The couple lived in the village of Worlingworth, near Framlingham, where they keep horses and ponies and Mr Love was on the parish council.

"Kevin was widely involved with village life and will be sadly missed by many in the community. 

"Our thoughts are with his family at this time."

Police are still investigating the crash, which took place at around 8.30pm on October 3.

A spokesman said: "Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of the motorcycle prior to the incident.

"Anyone with any information or relevant dashcam footage is asked to get in touch via the following channels, quoting reference NC-03102024-460."
