Children and families gathered in Woodbridge park for a mass kite-flying event.
The event, held on October 20, was part of a coordinated national demonstration in support of the children of Gaza who have been living without basic supplies, medical care, safe shelter and under constant threat of bombings for the past 12 months.
The initiative was organised by two parents of local schoolchildren.
They hoped the kite-flying would send a powerful message of solidarity.
Mother-of-two Annie Broadbent said: “It was heartening to see people come out in the wind and rain to show they care about what’s happening in a far away land.
"There’s not much noise made about these issues here in sleepy Suffolk, and we’re hopeful that this will start to change that.”
The event also had the attendance of vice-chair of East Suffolk Council, John Fisher, and councillor Tim Wilson.
Councillor Wilson said: “Sometimes Suffolk can feel quite far removed from the immense suffering.
"But it's vital that we continue to connect to these children in the Middle East as if they were our own."
