A 55-year-old has been arrested in connection to the death of Anita Rose in Brantham.
Ms Rose, 57, left her house at approximately 5am on July 24 to take her dog, a springer spaniel named Bruce, for a walk.
She was found unconscious on a track road near the railway line of Rectory Lane at 6.25am, with her jacket taken, wearing only her bra on her top half, as well as leggings and trainers on her lower half.
The mother of six was then taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, in a critical condition after sustaining significant head and brain injuries. She died a few days later.
He is now being questioned at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre, where he remains.
Specialist officers are supporting Anita’s family and keeping them updated on the investigation.
Crimestoppers recently announced it is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Ms Rose's death.
An inquest was also opened into the Suffolk mother's death with Suffolk Constabulary Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Connick telling the court that police were able to trace the 57-year-old's steps from an app which detailed the walk she took.
Police helicopter and a dogs unit were also spotted in Brantham on Thursday as police said carrying out ongoing inquiries in the area.
Previously, there have been three arrests in connection with the inquiry – a man aged in his 20s and a 45-year-old man on suspicion of murder, and a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
They were all bailed and are set to return to the police later in the year.
