A Felixstowe man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a 30-year-old construction worker in 2020.
Police were called to an address in Haughgate Close in Woodbridge on December 15, 2020, to reports of a man sustaining serious injuries.
A number of other emergency services personnel were also in attendance, but the man died at the scene.
The man was later identified as Dale Baker, aged 30, from Felixstowe.
A joint investigation was launched between the police Major Investigation Team and the Health and Safety Executive to the Crown Prosecution Service.
A 62-year-old man has now been charged with manslaughter in connection with Mr Baker's death following a four-year-long investigation.
Peter Clifford, of Holland Road, Felixstowe, was charged with gross negligence manslaughter.
In addition, he was charged relating to breaches of the Health & Safety Work Act including offences of failing to discharge the employer’s general duty.
A further two charges have been made against Hintonwood East Anglia Ltd, of which Clifford holds the position of director.
The charges brought against the company include failing to discharge the employer’s general duty under the Health and Safety Act.
The Felixstowe man is set to appear before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 15.
