A Suffolk cottage with a "Hansel and Gretel feel" and a converted barn with "original wooden beams" have been named among the best to stay at in the UK.
Hex Cottage in Sibton Park, near Saxmundham, and The Priory Barn in Woodbridge were named in a list of the top 25 best cottages in the UK by publisher Conde Nast Traveller.
Digital editor Sarah James and contributor Sarah Leigh Bannerman described the two cottages as "an antidote to cold-weather blues" and "perfect for a weekend away in the English countryside".
The Priory Barn in Woodbridge was commended for its "beautifully restored original wooden beams running along the vaulted ceiling and crisscrossing the windows" as well as its "huge and supremely comfortable bed".
Ms James said: "One side of the barn overlooks a pretty pond, so you can watch the ducks dabbling while you relax on the wide mid-century sofa, your peace interrupted only by the crackle of the wood burner."
A visit to one of the nearby towns of Framlingham, Southwold, Aldeburgh and Orford was also recommended.

Hex Cottage in Sibton Park was also complimented for its "gothic-style leaded windows and gnarled veranda".
Ms James described the cottage as "an absurdly romantic hideaway, right in the middle of the woods, surrounded by foxgloves and cut off from everything and everyone".

She added: "The cottage sits on the 4,500-acre Wilderness Reserve, where woods are intrinsic to the ethos of conserving the parkland and encouraging it to return to a more biodiverse landscape."

There is no electricity at the cottage and the heating comes from a wood burner.
