A café has been crowned the best in the country.

Café 24, based at Stonham Barns Park, won the prestigious 'Best Café' award at the England Business Awards on October 12.

The café, which was recently relaunched, has undergone a complete remodelling, featuring an enhanced outdoor eating area.

Owner Sarah Shaw opened Café 24, which is located at the entrance of Stonham Barns Park on the A1120, as a tribute to her late mother.

The number 24 has a personal significance in Ms Shaw's life.

Ms Shaw said: "It’s such amazing news. It’s so overwhelming.

"I am so proud of my team and of everything that we have done together to be announced winners in this category.

"The whole process of opening the business has been a roller coaster ride – in a good way.

"We have all had so much fun bringing good food and company to our customers, and we do want to continue to build on our success in the future.

"It’s what we all love doing so we will keep enhancing the offering to improve the experience for our lovely loyal customers."

London-born Ms Shaw moved from Essex to Stonham Aspal to open the café with the support of her husband Robert.

The café's menu, which Ms Shaw described as "simple but tempting," includes locally sourced ingredients.

Café 24 serves freshly made cakes and savoury classics, including everything from mozzarella, sun-blushed tomato, pesto, and roasted pepper paninis to Suffolk smoked ham, egg, and chips.

Ms Shaw said: "Of course, we do coffee for coffee lovers, but we do so much more.

"This is also a restaurant with a top chef who delights in plating up delicious food and mixing up the menus.

"The meat is locally sourced, the vegetables and herbs too."
