A seven inch Lego figure of Ed Sheeran kitted out in his beloved Ipswich Town has been designed by a Suffolk artist.

Ian Last, whose work usually focuses on nature paintings, is a pop culture fan and likes to create Lego models, usually of Star Wars characters.

He branched out to create the Lego House singer who has now gone on display in a Woodbridge gallery.

The creation took more than a day to make and required Mr Last to hand paint all of the details onto a blank Lego figurine, as well as model the singer's hair by hand.

Mr Last, who lives near Halesworth, said: "I've been making Lego characters for my own enjoyment.

"I was then contacted by W Gallery, in Woodbridge, and we banded around a few ideas until we came to Ed Sheeran in a Town kit."

Mr Last enjoys creating 'background characters' in films to delve further into his interests (Image: Ian Last) Mr Last does not sell the figurines but has given some to businesses in the region, including a Star Wars scene to Cosmic Jo's in Norwich.

He intends to make more and is currently working on a Taylor Swift figure as well as characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

"Some artists are very focused on their main themes, whereas my art spills over into my interests in pop culture."

Mr Last continued: "The logo is very hard to paint when it is so small, but I find getting the general shape and making it as detailed as I can does the trick.

"I don't really believe in 3D printing or transfer stickers and I'm a perfectionist, so sometimes it is a bit fiddly."
