An inquest has opened into the death of a man who was found at Lowestoft Harbour.
Jason Hammond, 56, from Lowestoft, was found by emergency services on January 14 this year having been reported missing the day before.
On January 13 he was reported missing to police by his partner after he went out for a walk and did not return.
Suffolk Coroners Court heard that Mr Hammond was categorised as a high-risk missing person by police and they pinpointed the location of his phone to the harbour area.
The coastguard was called, and his body was found in the early hours of January 14.
Coroner Darren Stewart OBE opened the inquest on Friday at Suffolk Coroner’s Court.
