Suffolk is home to a number of great towns and villages, but this week we're focusing on a place with an award-winning pub that should be on your list to visit.

Home to around 1,000 people Ufford has so much to offer and is well worth a visit.

Here are some reasons why you should visit.

Award-winning pub

The village is home to one of the best gastropubs in the UK

Earlier this year The Ufford Crown was selected in Estrella Damm's top 100 gastropubs.

The pub was also named as one of the best places for a roast dinner in Suffolk by the public.

Benefiting from a spacious restaurant, a cosy bar and stylish lounge area, the pub is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening.

Golf club and hotel

Ufford is also home to a great golf club and hotel at Ufford Park Resort.

There is also a spa at the resort which is a great place to visit if you are looking for some time to unwind and relax.

Last year the site had a £750,000 revamp and gained eight brand new treatment rooms as well as three non-therapist treatment rooms.

There was also a new relaxation room where guests can continue unwinding after their treatments.

Also at the complex is the award-winning golf course with Suffolk's only two-tiered driving range.

Lovely walks around the village

There are a number of public footpaths dotted around the village, and some even date back to Medieval times, while others were formed as a result of development in the village.

Some of the footpaths cross into neighbouring parishes such as Bredfield, Bromeswell, Eyke, Melton and Pettistree.

Parklands Wood

Also a great place to have a walk around is Parklands Wood.

The wood  has a large number of mature and some veteran trees, oak, ash, lime and sweet chestnut.
