A shipment of 500 unsafe hairdryers have been seized by trading standards.
The items which were counterfeit Dyson products were examined at the Port of Felixstowe.
Officers found the listing on the import notes had a different brand name and importer than other documentation.
Officers also found the delivery address was different to what was on the cartons and that the documents displayed an alternative brand.
Suffolk Trading Standards imports team seized the hairdryers and sent away samples for testing.
Testing results found the product was an electrical shock and fire risk.
A trading standards spokesman said that during testing product overheated, did not cut off, started to smoke and the product melted internally and externally.
Suffolk Trading Standards said the product did not meet the fuse requirements and the plug was incorrectly rated.
Information has been passed to Trading Standards colleagues that cover the location of where the products were due to be delivered, to investigate further.
