A fun-loving and energetic dog named after a beloved doll is searching for her dream home.

Barbie is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Border Collie Cross and arrived at Blue Cross in Wherstead as a stray.

A spokesman for the animal charity said Barbie loves people and is "keen to greet people and say hi and is always enthusiastic in her approach to pretty much anything.

"She is looking for a home with a family who can settle her into a home routine and remind her of all the lovely home comforts on offer."

Barbie arrived at the centre as a stray so little is known about her historyBarbie arrived at the centre as a stray so little is known about her history (Image: Blue Cross) Barbie is looking for an active home with owners who enjoy long walks, plenty of play and training along the way.

She can become a little bit frustrated when unable to meet other dogs but is learning to manage well and understand that not all dogs will want to play with her.

Barbie could live with older children who are confident around bouncy and high-energy dogs and can give her space when it is needed.

However, Barbie is currently looking for a home without cats.
