The owner of a new hair salon which is due to open in a village high street wants people to feel "loads better" when they are leaving her shop.

Chloe Locke will unveil her hair and beauty salon, The Deben Retreat, in High Street in Debenham at the start of November.

Ms Locke said while she feels "excited" and "nervous" at the prospect of running her own premises, she can't wait to open.

She said: "I want people to come in and go out feeling loads better."

A recent report from the British Beauty Council found the personal care industry grew by 11% in 2023 to £27.2billion. It is expected to grow by another 3% in 2024.

Despite the challenges faced by the cost-of-living crisis, Ms Locke believes women are "trying their hardest to save" in order to make themselves feel good.

Ms Locke will be joined by two other colleagues in the salon, who will both run the beautician side of the business.

She added: "I'm nervous, excited and everything in between."
