Sea cadets provided music and entertainment for an array of VIP guests at the naming of a new cargo ship at the Port of Felixstowe on Wednesday (October 9).
Ordinary Cadets Symons and Haselwood - from Bury St Edmunds - skipped down the red carpet after a host of dignitaries finished officially naming the Alexandra Maersk - one of a new fleet of green dual fuel mega-ships.
Danish shipping giant Maersk hosted a ceremony at Felixstowe attended by bosses of some global industry giants. They included Maersk chief executive Vincent Clerc and Primark chief executive Paul Marchant.
Sea cadets paraded in front of the huge ship, and provided a musical backdrop as it was named.
