Outline plans for up to seven new homes in a village have been submitted.
R C Partridge and Co Ltd has lodged proposals with Babergh District Council to build on land off the A1071 in Calais Street, Boxford.
The site, an agricultural plot of land, has not been developed on before.
A design and access statement said the houses would be arranged in a linear fashion and face Hadleigh Road.
It would consist of four two-bedroom properties, two three-bedroom houses and one four-bed.

Access to the site would be shared between the homes.
According to plans, the adjacent track which allows for access to the fields would remain.
"The proposed appearance of the properties would match the prevailing character of the street," the design and access statement adds.
"The proposed development complements the Hadleigh Road street scene by utilising wide frontages with street-facing eaves and porches to accent the entrances."
A decision is expected to be made by Thursday, December 5.
