A family-run pub is celebrating after being rewarded for its culinary excellence.

The Three Horseshoes in Fordham, near Bures, has received its third AA Rosette at a prestigious event at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Over the past year the pub has received national praise on more than once occasion including Pub of the Year at the East of England Tourism Awards, a Bib Gourmand from Michelin, Best Destination Pub in Essex with Muddy Stilettos and a nomination by Top 50 Gastropubs as ‘One to Watch’.

Owner Moira Edwards said: “Being awarded the third rosette is the most brilliant news, to top a year of accolades.

"The team have worked so hard. They are truly passionate every day, raising their game constantly to be the best they can be.

"This recognition means a lot to me, the team, and of course, our guests who have continued to support us over the last three years.”

Since opening the pub, Ms Edwards, her son Sam, his partner Abbie, and head chef Josh Dawson have continued to build and diversify the business, and have refurbished the outdoor seating area into a stylish garden and terrace for dining and drinks.

Mr Dawson's a la carte menus reflect the seasons by using carefully-sourced British ingredients and local produce wherever possible, including Dedham Vale Beef and Dingley Dell pork.

General manager Mr Edwards said: “I grew up in hospitality. It’s in my blood, so my goal has always been to run my own restaurant.

"To open the pub with my mother and achieve so much in such a short space of time, is just incredible. We will continue to grow and develop the business, so I am very excited to see what 2025 has in store for us.”

The pub is open Wednesday to Saturday for a la carte lunch and dinner and Sunday for a la carte lunch and Sunday roast.
