A new food bank donation point has been set up in an east Suffolk village to help people in the local community who are in need.
Rendlesham Care Centre, in Suffolk Drive, has teamed up with charity The Salvation Army Woodbridge to establish the bank to raise awareness and collect essential non-perishable food items for villagers.
To help get the bank up and running, a substantial number of food items were collected with care centre employees, residents and visitors coming together to donate.

Michael Kenny, regional sales support manager at the centre, presented the first donation.
He said: “We are delighted to be able to contribute to such an important cause.
"Supporting the community is a core value at Rendlesham Care Centre and we look forward to continuing our partnership with The Salvation Army to help those in need.”
The food bank collection point will remain an on-going initiative at the care centre and the public is being encouraged to support the cause.
