Drivers are facing heavy delays in Kesgrave after a tree and an electrical line blocked two separate roads.

During rush hour on Wednesday morning, a tree fell down in Foxhall Road in Kesgrave, causing heavy delays.

The tree blocked one lane of the road, used by drivers heading in and out of Ipswich to join the A12, but was cleared just after 8.30am.

The AA traffic map still shows slow traffic and delays in the area.

Just off Foxhall Road, on Monument Farm Lane, a tree fell onto a telephone line, pulling the pole down.

The road is currently closed and awaiting BT engineers and Suffolk Highways to assess the situation.

A spokesperson for Suffolk police said: "The road is expected to be closed for a few hours."
