A community leader is worried that a stretch of road will continue to flood over the winter if work is not carried out to find a resolution.
Poplar Road in Great Cornard, near Sudbury, is prone to flooding during heavy rainfall.
The road has been flooded since the weekend and is impassable at times.
Now chair of Great Cornard Paris Council Tom Keane has said he is worried the issues will continue into the winter.
He said: "It's something that happens more and more regularly nowadays and it is up to the council about what they will or will not do but I can't help but worry to think it is low on their list of priorities.
"I don't know when the last time the drainage was looked at but maybe it needs looking at again and a good clearing.
"I wish this wasn't the case but I can see this happening again throughout the winter."
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Highways said: "We have carried out an investigation and unfortunately any drainage improvements required cannot be done within our usual routine maintenance activities.
"We have therefore added the location to our programme for potential future works.
"Although we would like to deal with all cases of flooding immediately, in recent years we have experienced wet winters and more frequent heavy rainfall.
"Therefore, we must prioritise the sites to work on based upon the impact of the flood waters.
"We will continue to monitor the location as part of our routine inspections. If the situation worsens, please report it to Suffolk Highways, via the Online Reporting Tool."
