A takeaway specialising in loaded mac and cheese has announced it is heading on tour after a busy summer.

Say Cheese opened its doors at Beach Street in Felixstowe at the start of the year after owner Sarah Hiorns realised she preferred her homemade cheesy pasta to that ordered in restaurants.

"My husband and I always thought about how good it would be to have our own place serving mac and cheese," said the self-professed cheese lover.

The takeaway allows guests to pick and choose from a range of toppings or specials such Mac Attack which is crispy potatoes topped with mac and cheese, or the D Oh Double G which is the cheesy pasta topped with hotdogs, crispy onions, yellow mustard and ketchup.

"Bacon and crispy onions are our most popular toppings but we also have others such as marmite, which is one of my favourites," said Mrs Hiorns.

Since opening in February, Say Cheese has continued to rise in popularity - allowing it to expand and go mobile.

It will be serving mac and cheese from a converted horse box weekly at Ipswich Market starting on Friday, October 4.

Mrs Hiorns said: "It has been really good at Beach Street and we have been super popular over summer with lots of families.

"Mac and cheese is a great option for those with kids."

Later in the year Say Cheese will also be serving food at other events in the Suffolk calendar such as the Hintlesham Hall Christmas Fair which runs from Friday, November 22 until Sunday, November 24.

The Say Cheese takeaway unit in Felixstowe will also remain open throughout winter.
