An Ipswich man has been fined hundreds of pounds and banned from driving after admitting to being above the alcohol limit while behind the wheel of a car in Felixstowe.

Artur Tynny, who is of Boyton Road, Ipswich, was ordered to pay £400 in a fine and has been banned from driving for 15 months after pleading guilty to a drink driving charge when he appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court.

Tynny was caught driving his Mercedes in Parker Avenue in Felixstowe on June 23 while having 50 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The limit of alcohol in breath in England is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.

The 45-year-old's guilty plea was taken into account in his sentencing.

His legal costs amounted to £85 with a surcharge added of £160 which must be paid in full, a court listing confirmed.

He is able to reduce his driving ban by 15 weeks upon the successful completion of a course.

The deadline for completion of the course has been set for May 23, 2025.
