A pizzeria in east Suffolk has been announced as a finalist for this year's National Pizza Awards.
The Woodyard, in Woodbridge, opened in 2022 after starting out as a woodfired pizza van.
Now the bricks and mortar pizzeria has been recognised as one of 16 finalists for the National Pizza Awards.
Genna Ash-Brown, editor of Dine Out Magazine, which organises the annual event, said: “We say it every time, but that’s because it’s true – entries from the National Pizza Awards came in thick and fast this year, making the shortlisting process more difficult than ever and the calibre of competitors more exciting than we’ve ever seen before."
The winner will be determined after a live cooking showdown, where chefs will take part in a technical challenge and a taste challenge.
The technical challenge will require the chefs to create the ultimate pizza from a selection of sponsor ingredients.
The taste challenge will see chefs head for the Alternative Slice Award, given to the competitor who puts together the most delicious dish from a range of free-from products.
The finals will take place on November 12 at London's Big Penny Social to determine the winner.
