Two Suffolk pubs have been named among the best in the UK after they were included in a list put together by top food critics.

A team of top chefs and food critics, including Michel Roux Jr, Prue Leith and Tom Parker Bowles, have worked with the Daily Mail to curate a definitive list of "the best 100 pubs in Britain" with Suffolk making its mark.

The accolade for the Brewers in Rattlesden and the Unruly Pig in Bromeswell is the latest in a string of awards for the busineses.

They pubs were both recently named in the prestigious Michelin guide.

The Unruly Pig, which was also named the best gastropub in the UK earlier this year, was noted for its "accomplished food and stellar service".

The pub has several accolades to its name, having been named 'best pub' in the GQ Magazine Food and Drink Awards 2023 and placing in 77th position in the National Restaurant Awards 2023.

The Brewers was also selected as one of the best pubs in the UK by some of the country's top food critics.

The pub was bought by Rattlesden villagers in 2018, who were keen to ensure another rural pub wasn’t lost.

The head chef at the pub spent a year working in Texas smokehouses, so people should expect particularly flavoursome burgers too.

Already in 2024 The Brewers has been named one of the UK's top 100 gastropubs by Estrella Damm and has retained its prestigious two AA rosettes.

The pub's beer garden was also named as one of the prettiest in the country.

The stylish patio is ringed by a high brick wall, with large umbrellas covering the dining area and fairy lights hanging around the back of the pub building.

The barbecue area is hidden behind a low concrete wall. On sunny weekends head chef Matt Avery can be found tending foods with Texan smokehouse flavours.
