Two Suffolk town's are increasingly on buyers' radars according to a local estate agent.

Saxmundham and Felixstowe have been chosen by Katy Stephenson, associate director in the residential sales team at Savills in Suffolk, as two places that are becoming much sought after.

The two east Suffolk towns have a wide array of venues and accolades that are proving a huge tick for potential buyers - whether that be Felixstowe's blue flag beach or Saxmundham's award-winning farm shop

“Saxmundham is proving very popular,” Ms Stephenson said.

“There is a lovely mix of period and family housing and it represents good value for money when compared to other destinations along the coast.

"The sporting facilities in the town are fantastic and the schools are excellent, so it’s very attractive for families.

"The railway station offers services into London – via Ipswich – and it’s very accessible for the A12.

"Snape Maltings with its array of galleries, boutique shops, cafés, restaurants and the world famous concert hall is around four miles away, while the highly sought after towns of Aldeburgh, Framlingham and Woodbridge and all their amenities are very nearby.

"Surrounded by countryside, it’s a haven for anyone who wants to escape for a more relaxed way of life yet still be within a town."

Felixstowe also has a lot that will attract people who are looking to move to the Suffolk coast.

"The appeal of Felixstowe is also spreading," Ms Stephenson added.

"Historically it’s been somewhat overshadowed by other towns on the coast, but it’s seen a lot of investment and regeneration in recent years and has been included in The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Live guide.

"The old town is the most sought after area, but it offers the complete package.

"The price of property is attractive and homebuyers appreciate the characterful Edwardian properties and variety of leisure amenities.

"The town centre is well stocked, there’s an award winning Blue Flag beach and train links into Ipswich and the A14 make it very accessible.”
