Hundreds of people gathered to take on a brand new colour run.
Christchurch Park was a sea of pink, orange and blue as around 450 participants pulled on their trainers to take on the course posed by Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals charity.
People of all ages tested themselves on a 1k or 5k route which they could run, walk or jog.
Amongst the runners were “thankful” 44-year-old Emma Everett and her 17-year-old daughter Kacie Everett, who were participating in recognition of the care Emma received from Ipswich Hospitals Ear, Nose and Throat department after her Thyroid Diagnosis in July 2023.
They have raised more than £700 so far.
Emma said: “I really wanted to do the colour run because the staff were amazing, everyone I came into contact with was just brilliant.
"My consultant Dr Billy Wong was amazing. He took very good care of me and was extremely attentive. I feel really lucky it was discovered early.”
The proceeds from the event will go to good causes across East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
The event was partially funded from charitable donations to Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity in partnership with funding from OCS UK & Ireland.
Nicola Whymark, head of charity fundraising and marketing said: “We would like to extend our thanks to everyone that supported us, including the participants, suppliers, our sponsor and volunteers who made this event possible.
“Their support and commitment has been truly inspiring. Together, they have made a significant difference to the lives of patients, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity.”
Daniel Dickson, of OCS CEO, UK & Ireland, added: “We've thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic event and are proud as a local business to sponsor the charity and have lots of our team taking part and volunteering. Already looking forward to next year.”
