A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on the A11 in west Suffolk, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to a crash in the southbound carriageway of the A11, near Red Lodge, at about 10.30pm on Monday after receiving reports of an injured person on the road.
They then received reports that a vehicle collided with the injured person and failed to stop at the scene of the crash.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, died at the scene.
The road was closed in both directions for a number of hours overnight while emergency services attended the scene.
It was fully reopened at about 6.45am the following morning.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or who was driving in the area that has a dash cam fitted in the vehicle that might have footage that can help police.
