The chair of a ramblers group says she is still finding new footpaths as the group celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Stowmarket Ramblers marked 50 years of its group with a picnic and cake after its usual walk on Sunday.

Previous members were invited to take part, resulting in a "noisy" chat as they made their way through the countryside.

Mary Moore, who has been associated with the group for about 30 years and is the current chair, said: "It was a really good chat.

"I think what is so good is we have managed to have kept the group going for so long.

"It is really good to keep it going. We seem to be thriving at the moment."

The group has more than 100 members, while there is a core section which takes part every week.

Ms Moore added while she has been with the group for as long as she has, they still continue to find new footpaths.

The group meets every Sunday and welcomes new members from other groups.
