New plans have been submitted to convert a former mid Suffolk town pub into a convenience store.
The Crown in Crown Street, Stowmarket, shut its doors in November 2020 during the midst of the Covid pandemic and has remained closed since.
Earlier this year, Mid Suffolk District Council received an application to convert the site into a convenience store and construct a single-storey extension.
The proposals were refused due to concerns regarding parking as the site is located on the junction with Regent Street.
New plans have been submitted which tackle issues raised in the previous proposal.

The pub will still be converted into a convenience store and a supporting document said: "The proposed change-of-use opens up the rear yard, by removing the front wall and installing new concertina gates, which will improve access and/or pallet deliveries, together with vastly improving visibility for vehicles, and pedestrians leaving the site."
A parking bay will also be created in the site which can provide temporary parking for small delivery vans and an additional application would be submitted for an extended drop kerb.
The new planning application also states the owners will also apply to run a Post Office from the site.
