A man who took whiskey, smart tablets and a bottle of Lucozade has pleaded guilty to burglary.

Jahziah Khan appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, facing two counts of burglary and a charge of possession of a bladed article.

The court heard that on August 25 Khan had entered a property in Mersea Road in Colchester.

Inside the property, he stole Gentleman Jack whiskey, coffee liqueur and medication. It is understood that at the time, he had with him a “large hunting knife”, the court was told.

The same day, the 19-year-old entered a property in Blackheath and took two smart tablets, portable speakers, a charging port and a bottle of Lucozade, again with the large hunting knife.

Khan, who is of no fixed abode but is from the Colchester area, pleaded guilty to all three counts.

He was remanded in custody until sentencing, which is expected to take place on November 7.
