A bungalow could be built in the garden of an existing property in plans before a Suffolk council.

Proposals for the new build in the garden of 12 Deben Drive, Sudbury, were submitted to Babergh District Council earlier this month.

The outline plans, submitted on behalf of applicant Mrs S Welch, include the creation of a new two or three bedroom bungalow.

The site is currently the garden of 12 Deben Drive, which is described as "maintained" with planting and elements that "remain untouched".

Access to the site would be via an existing driveway that would be shared.

A statement before the council reads: "The new structure will be designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding area, maintaining a cohesive and consistent aesthetic with neighbouring buildings."

"This new structure will not only meet contemporary living needs but also respect the character of the local environment, with careful attention given to minimizing its impact on the existing landscape and infrastructure."

Plans state it will include parking and "suitable amenity space" and "will not reduce the amenity space or parking of 12 Deben Drive below Suffolk design standards".
