A number of travellers have pitched up in a town estate's playing field.
It is believed about 12 caravans have been spotted at Howard Park in the Howard estate in Bury St Edmunds.
It is not clear when the travellers arrived.
Councillor Frank Stennett, who covers the Howard estate at West Suffolk Council, said the authority is aware of the situation.
A spokesman for West Suffolk Council said: "We are aware that nine caravans, three motorhomes and nine cars have set up on the playing fields on the Howard Estate in Bury St Edmunds.
"We and Traveller welfare will be speaking to the families to check their needs and assist with the proper disposal of any waste.
"We manage this public open space and will be looking to get it back to its community use as soon as we can, following the legal process."
It comes after a number of caravans pitched up on land off Lady Miriam Way, on the Moreton Hall estate in Bury, last month.
About nine caravans were spotted on the land which is opposite the Audi garage.
A horse and several other vehicles were also there.
