Plans to convert a former bank building in a mid Suffolk town have been refused.
A prior approval application to convert the vacant HSBC bank in Stowmarket into six flats and a commercial premises was received by Mid Suffolk District Council in July.
Concerns were raised in regards to the lack of parking and noise impact from the development, in Market Place, in response to the application.
Planners said the number of parking spaces did not meet the requirements of an application of its size and was "unacceptable".
Five vehicle spaces, one of which would be for the commercial unit.
The officer's delegated report added the applicant has failed to submit "sufficient information" addressing how residents will be protected from noise activities at the site.
The bank closed its doors in August 2022.
A closure impact report at the time said 92% of the customers using the branch also used telephone banking.
It was one of three branches in Suffolk which was shut down by the banking giant at the time.
