There are currently severe delays on the A12 due to overrunning roadworks.
The southbound carriageway is currently closed between junction 25 Marks Tey to junction 26 Stanway.
National Highways has said the closure is in place due to "overrunning roadworks".
The #A12 southbound remains closed this morning between J26 #Stanway and J25 #MarksTey due to a planned overnight roadworks closure over-running their pre-agreed end time.

A diversion route is in place as a result of the closure.
Roads in and around Colchester have become gridlocked as a result of the carriageway being closed.
