An inquest has opened into the death of mum-of-six and suspected murder victim Anita Rose.

Ms Rose, from Brantham, left her house at approximately 5am on July 24 to take her dog, a springer spaniel named Bruce, for a walk.

Emergency services were called to a track near to Rectory Lane in Brantham at 6.30am.

He told the court police were able to trace the 57-year-old's steps from an app which detailed the walk she took the morning of her death.

At 6.03am, her tracking map stopped and the chief inspector said that was normal for this time.

He said a passer-by found Ms Rose and contacted an ambulance, who on arrival called the police to the scene shortly after 8am.

A post mortem has been completed and the provisional cause of death is a traumatic head injury, pending further investigation.

The mum-of-six was found unconscious lying on a track road near the sewage works and railway line.

She was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, but died during the morning of July 28.

There have been three arrests in connection with the inquiry – a man aged in his 20s and a 45-year-old man on suspicion of murder, and a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

All have been bailed and are set to return to the police later in the year.

Last week, police released images of two men they would like to speak to

Nigel Parsley, senior coroner for Suffolk, said: "On the basis of the information provided, I will open an inquest into Anita's tragic death.

"This inquest will be suspended whilst police inquiries continue."

The hearing was adjourned until 2025.
