A noise warning has been issued to people living near RAF Lakenheath on the Suffolk and Norfolk border ahead of pilots at the US airbase carrying out night-time flying exercises.
RAF Lakenheath has warned of noise disruption in the surrounding area starting on Wednesday, September 18.
During this time aircraft will be taking off, landing, and transiting between RAF Lakenheath and over the North Sea several times between 7pm and 10.30pm between September 18 to 21.
The airbase also warned of noise disruption from late-night exercises this week.
Brigadier General Joseph L. Campo, 48th Fighter Wing commander, said: "We understand the disturbance this may cause to our local communities".
"We appreciate the patience and understanding as we ensure our Airmen remain trained and ready to secure the sovereign skies anytime, day or night".
The exercise does not include plans for low-altitude flying in East Anglia or the surrounding areas.
Overland flying will be limited as much as possible between sunset and sunrise.
