A driver was arrested in an east Suffolk village after they were allegedly found to be about three times over the legal alcohol limit while driving.

At some time about 9pm on Wednesday, police stopped a vehicle in Yoxford, near Halesworth, after they witnessed the vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner.

Officers then approached the vehicle and asked the driver to undergo a roadside alcohol test.

The driver's sample showed 100 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit for driving in the UK is 35 microgrammes.

The driver was then arrested and taken to a nearby police station for questioning.

This comes after a motorbike was also recently seized in Halesworth after a person was found without a licence and insurance.
