VisitEngland have announced the winners for this years prestigious ROSE awards - Suffolk made the list three times.

Locations in Beccles, Thornham Magna and Southwold all received a nod in this year's running of the VisitEngland awards, with the stay spots being judged on "going the extra mile".

The awards are given based on warm welcomes, engaging stories, delicious lunches, or the overall visitor experience. 

Praise is given for the categories of: Welcome, Best Told Story, Quality Food & Drink, Hidden Gem and Gold.

Out of the 100 winners, Hippersons Boatyard in Beccles, The Four Horseshoes in Thornham Magna and Castle Keep in Southwold made the cut.

Hippersons Boatyard

If the water is your thing, there are electric day-boats (your boat for a day), canoes and kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, guided paddle tours and a pedal boat on site.

The site is a working boatyard, with many boats coming and going, projects happening and knowledgeable people to tell you all about it.

The Four Horseshoes

The pub has won two Tripadvisor Travellers Choice awards and a Eviivo Awards Hidden Gem for the south east.

Castle Keep
