Banking giant Lloyds has announced the closure of one if its Suffolk branches. 

Lloyds is set to close its bank in Beccles next year due to more people moving to online banking. 

The branch is expected to close down on May 6, 2025. 

A spokesman for Lloyds said: "Most customers are now using our Mobile Banking app, Internet Banking or calling us instead. This means they are using branches, including our Beccles branch much less.

"Because of this, we'll be closing our Beccles branch."

According to Lloyds, 76% of the branch's customers use other ways of banking, such as mobile, internet, or phone banking as well as other branches. 

The bank has 663 regular customers with 68% of them being aged 55 and over. 

It comes after Lloyds announced it will be closing its branch in Haverhill in west Suffolk later this month. 

Lloyds had been expected to close down on June 25 after the banking giant announced a round of closures last year. 

However, bosses said they would keep the branch open so that a banking hub could be set up in the town. 

It will now close on Tuesday, September 24.
