A self employed gardener who had thousands of pounds worth of tools stolen from his van has said he has lost work and money as a result of the crime.

Ewan, who runs Yeomans Gardening Services & removals in Haverhill, and who asked for his surname not to be included, said his van was taken from his address in Stirling Drive, Haverhill, between August 2 and 3.

It was then found dumped in Queensway in the town, close to the AB's Mini Market, but his tools including drills, saws and climbing equipment, were no longer inside.

"The van was stolen and dumped a small distance away, but the contents of the van and all of my tools had been taken," said Ewan.

"I have lost a lot of work and lost a lot of money. It is not ideal obviously, they have taken all of my tools that I need to work and I have got two young children and a partner to provide for.

"I still can't work until I get tools because the insurance won't cover the amount of tools that were stolen.

"It has basically rendered me jobless. It has been a massive blow."

Ewan took to social media to ask if anyone knew anything about his lost tools.

He told readers he was offering a small reward along with three months of free property maintenance for anyone who can lead them to finding the stolen items.

Suffolk Police have confirmed the following tools were stolen.

• Dewalt XR Combi Drill

• Dewalt XR Impact Driver

• 5 Dewalt XR 18/54v Batter and one in each tool (7 total)

• Husqvarna 550 XP MKII PRO Chain saw

• Makita Plug in Skillsaw

• Tree Surgeon climbing equipment including ropes, harness & tool belt containing files, wedges and adjustment tool.

• Dewalt XR Jigsaw

• Dewalt battery charger
