A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run which left a pedestrian with serious injuries. 

Officers from Suffolk police were called to a collision involving a motorcycle and a man aged in his 30s in Sea Road, Felixstowe, near the junction with Manwick Road at 9.55pm on Monday.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury - while the rider of the motorcycle, a blue Suzuki GSF 600, fled the scene on foot after coming off the bike. 

A 20-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, drug driving, failing to report an accident, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

He was taken to Martlesham police station for question before being released under investigation, pending further enquiries. 

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision and any motorists with a dashcam who were driving in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
