Suffolk's Zoe Newson is set to compete in the final of the powerlifting at the Paralympics on Wednesday.
The two-time bronze medallist will be attempting to go for gold in the women's up to 45kg category at the La Chapelle Arena in Paris.
Newson, who was born in Ipswich and went to school in East Bergholt, will be competing in her fourth Paralympics.
She claimed bronze in the 40kg category at London 2012 with an effort of 88kg, before repeating her success in Rio De Janeiro four years later with a lift of 102kg.
The 32-year-old narrowly missed out on a podium finish at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Newson, who was born with growth hormone deficiency, topped the podium at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham two years ago.
Ahead of the games, Penny Briscoe, ParalympicsGB Chef de Mission, added: “Our Para powerlifting squad embodies the spirit of strength and determination and I can’t wait to see what they all can achieve at the Paralympic Games next month. “
The final starts at 4pm on Wednesday.
