Hundreds of runners from all over the county will be taking to the streets of Ipswich this month as they run the Ipswich Half Marathon. 

On Sunday, September 22, runners will be taking part in the Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon, which sees them travel all over the town. 

Along the route, runners will pass well-known locations such as Ipswich Waterfront, Holywells Park and the River Orwell.

The event will start and finish at Portman Road, with runners starting the race at 9.30am.

Here is everything you need to know about the half marathon. 

Key timings for Ipswich Half Marathon 

7.30am - Race office and baggage store opens in the event village

9.15am - Warm up starts on the start line

9.30am - Official start time

Road closures for Ipswich Half Marathon

Road closures for the half marathon begin an hour before the event begins but parking closures should be expected from 6pm on the Saturday before until 1.30pm on the Sunday.

Will there be water stations during the Ipswich Half Marathon?

Water bottles of 300ml will be available on course at just before mile three, six, eight and 11 and 500ml bottles will be available at the finish line.

High5 Zero tabs will also be available just before six and eight miles.

What happens if I need medical attention during the half marathon?

Should you find you require medical assistance, medical assistants will be on hand to help at regular intervals on the course with fixed first aid stations located near the water stations.
