The full list of expected road closures ahead of the Tour of Britain stage through Suffolk has been announced.

Stage six of the major cycling event takes place through on Sunday, September 8 with the race starting in Lowestoft and ending in Felixstowe.

East Suffolk Council will be closing some roads, as well as suspending parking in some areas of towns and villages along the route to ensure safety.

There will also be a rolling road closure in operation for about 15 minutes before the estimated time of arrival until 10 minutes after the last rider has passed.

Signs are in place where on-street parking restrictions will apply and residents and visitors are asked to remove vehicles before the restrictions come into place the day of the event.

East Suffolk councillor Seamus Bennett said: "The Tour of Britain Men is the biggest professional cycling race in the country and we have work hard to secure the return of the event to East Suffolk.

"We do understand that the temporary road closures and parking suspensions are likely to be inconvenient for residents.

"However, these restrictions are for a short time and are essential to ensure the safety of riders and all those who come out to enjoy this major international sorting event.

"I would like to thank residents for their understanding and support."
