A 60-year-old football fan is to be charged with assault after allegedly falling on a woman at a match at Portman Road.
The incident took place during Ipswich Town's FA Cup match with non-league side Maidstone United on Saturday, January 27.
Away fans were located in the entire upper tier of the Cobbold Stand for the game and during the celebrations for the first goal, a man was seen falling into the tier below.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said on Friday a man has been summonsed to appear before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 16.
He is due to be formally charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm and two counts of assault by beating.
The charges relate to two victims.
Kieran McKenna's side lost the game 2-1 and were knocked out of the competition.
Following the incident, clear safety glass was installed in the upper tier of the stand.
