Nestled between the Orwell and Stour rivers, this south Suffolk trail is named as one of the best coastal walks in Britain.
The Shotley peninsula isn't technically coastal, but sits surrounded by the plenty of water for that coastal feel and was recently named as one of the best places for coastal walks in Britain by the i newspaper.
Throughout Shotley there are plenty of things to see along the four trails named in Suffolk Coast and Heaths Shotley guide.
Harwich Haven is "the best natural harbour on the east coast of England", the port lies across the estuary on the south shore of the River Stour.
Once a Royal Navy training establishment, the HMS Ganges Museum tells the story of more than 150,000 navel cadets who trained in Shotley from 1905 up until it closed in 1976.
The Stour and Orwell estuaries are home to wading birds on the mudflats and saltmarshes. Over 40,000 wildfowl and wading birds make their way here in the autumn to feed and roost.
The i, which named the Suffolk trail as one of the best, recommends the view of Felixstowe Docks, Erwarton Church (where Anne Boleyn's heart is supposedly buried in the walls) and Shotley Vineyard for a spot of wine tasting.
